The West of the West is a travelogue of a trip to the West Coast and the Kimberley region of Western Australia with many colour illustrations. The Hub of Australia and Beyond is a similar account of tours in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Australia Illustrated: The Eastern States completes the trilogy of descriptions and illustrations of recent tours to the states and territories of the fifth continent. Across Australia from East to West is Palfy’s most comprehensive work presenting many of Australia’s incomparable tourist attractions in words and pictures!

Q: What makes you proud to be a writer from Australia?
A: The opportunity that I can write interesting travel-photo books featuring the attractions of this country.
Q: What, or who, inspired you to become a writer?
A: When I retired in 2002, I had spare time on my hand. I sat down and created my life story “Six letters to my daughter”. This was intended strictly as a family affair. I found that writing was not only hard work but a lot of fun as well, so I decided to become a travel writer-photographer.
Q: When did you begin writing with the intention of being published?
A: In the early 2000’s.Q: Did your environment or upbringing play a major role in your writing and why?
A: At school we always had to write essays, writing became a second nature to me without especially realizing it. In my work as a chemical technologist, I had to keep writing technical reports and published articles in trade magazines.
Q: Do you come up with your title(s) before or after you write the manuscript(s)?
A: I create the title before writing the manuscript, it can be considered as the
name of the project. If I think of a better title, I might change it. I may also add a subtitle to the main title.
Q: Why do you write in the genre(s) that you’ve chosen?
A: Because of having seen so many of the attractions of Australia, it comes natural to me to describe them in essays and in pictures. By no means would this be the only genre to express my views. I have a book about digital photography and albums of my selected photos. Even my illness resulted in an inspirational book to urge people to face difficulties in life with hope and courage. This one has the provocative title “The funny side of lung cancer”.
Q: What has been your most rewarding experience while in the writing process?
A: The fact that I can express my innermost thoughts – make contact with the readers.
Q: What has been your most negative experience while in the writing process?
A: A difficult question to answer because I have never felt frustrated during writing. I am just not the sort of person who does.
Q: What has been your most rewarding experience in your publishing journey?
A: When I learnt of the existence of Internet publishers and after a long process I mastered the formatting techniques required to submit my manuscripts.Q: What has been your most negative experience in your publishing journey?
A: Trying to deal with the various publishers before I was told of the existence of internet publishers.
Q: What one positive piece of advice would you give to other authors?
A: Never give up, keep trying!
Q: Who is your favorite author and why?
A: Stephen Vizinczey because of his profound understanding of human nature.
Q: Please tell us the title(s) of your current book(s):
A: “Postcards from South Gippsland” – this book is the latest one of my Postcards from… series introducing the attractions of selected regions of Australia. My other new book is “A Collection of Images” a second collection of my best photos (The first one was “Captured with the Camera” – 2007).
Q: What format(s) are your books in: Print Only - E-Book Only - or Both?
A: Printed versions, some also available as downloads.
Q: What special projects are you working on now and what books do we have to look forward to in the future?
A: I would like to continue my travel adventure books, particularly the Postcards from… series.
Q: Is there anything else that you would like to share with us?
A: Reading is a great experience, I read many books.
